As each industry and sector has different needs for washers, we hold a vast array of materials to suit most needs. However, below are some of our most common materials that we use to supply washers.
Our most common material for rubber washers would be Neoprene, this is a versatile material made from Chloroprene. It has various qualities that benefit many sectors including good resistance to a range of chemicals, heat and water and has some ozone resistant; this ensures that washers can not only withstand any heat and chemicals but will also last longer when faced with cold weather, sunlight and rain.
We also keep a range of plastics in stock which can be used to produce washers for many uses – the popular option would be PTFE, polypropylene or polycarbonate. These are common alternatives to metal washers and one of the benefits would be that these can come in translucent, white or black material.
Foams can be used for washers and with a vast array of options in stock, the choice will come down to the use, flexibility and characteristics you need the washer to have – whether its closed or open cell, plain or with a self-adhesive attached; or if its white or black in colour.
