Polyurethane

Polyurethane is a is a unique polymer that is elastic like a rubber but can be repeatedly stretched and reformed like a plastic. This material is tough, flexible and hard wearing – and with various shore hardness’s available – it makes it very versatile for a wide range of industries and products.

Most of our polyurethane products are made bespoke from cast and have a high degree of durability and excellent resistance to oxidation, ozone and petroleum-based fuels and oils.

This material can come in white, black, yellow, red, blue, green and orange with bespoke thicknesses specific to customer requirements, we currently keep this as standard in red 10mm thick 80 shore ‘A’ hardness. We can produce many 2-dimensional parts from polyurethane bespoke to our customer requirements.

Acrylic

We stock a range of acrylic materials in our store including the leading brand names, we stock these in thicknesses of 2mm, 3 mm and 5mm – however we can source most thicknesses in Acrylic plastic depending on our customers requirements.

Perspex is a premium brand name for acrylic, it is a solid transparent plastic that is made from polymethyl – a material that is twenty times stronger than glass and is often used in sheet form as a light weight or shatter resistant alternative to glass. Perspex has many properties that make it a popular choice in manufacturing industries, including – excellent optical clarity, weather and UV resistance, high shock, abrasion and flex resistance. It is also 100% recyclable.

PTFE

PTFE is widely known as Teflon. It is incredibly versatile due to its high density, resistance to high temperatures from -200°C to +260°C, excellent chemical resistance and non-stick properties.  White is kept as our standard material colour, available in sheet sizes of 1.2m wide x 1.2m long in thicknesses from 0.5mm up to 10mm thick available off the shelf. We produce various sized gaskets for our customers using PTFE in small and large volumes.

Polypropylene

Polypropylene is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications. Its properties are similar to polyethylene but has a higher heat resistance of 100 °C and is slightly harder. It is also the 2^nd most highly produced commodity plastic and is widely recyclable.  Standard colours available are white + black and standard sheet size is 1.22m wide x 2.44mm long.
